Intriguing Metaphors from Germany and Italy

Recently, Le Cube Dans Mon Rêve was featured in Groove (Germany) and Rumore (Italy).

Both chose to describe the album through intriguing metaphors:


“Es klingt, als hätte das Penguin Café Orchestra Ende der Achtziger ein Demotape liegen lassen …”

(It sounds as if the Penguin Café Orchestra had left behind a demo tape in the late ’80s, which somehow resurfaced forty years later and was digitised into analogue glitch-pop by AI.) — Groove




“Se Picasso avesse fatto musica, che forma avrebbe avuto?”

(If Picasso had made music, what shape would it have taken?) — Rumore


These sorts of metaphors are attractive in themselves. They seem to reflect the writer’s own background and perspective, and discovering how our work is refracted through such lenses is always a pleasure.

It was also striking to notice how often European media frame the album within a specifically “Japanese” context. This is not something we consciously emphasise ourselves, so encountering that perspective felt like an unexpected and rather fascinating discovery.
