Post-Internet Music

We received a comment from a listener on the other day that FMT's YouTube channel had been viewed so few times despite the quality. We appreciate the comment.

Our YouTube channel is almost only for ourselves... As we are making music that we want to listen to but doesn't seem to exist anywhere, we love to listen to FMT's tracks. (But probably we make listens more often on SoundCloud.)

We don't mind that at all because it's quite natural. We only inform of the YouTube channel on FMT's home page. Furthermore, and more importantly, even if we advertised the channel, it would attract very limited people having deep understanding of music in general and more or less similar wavelengths. Or, it would require a lot, in other words.

That is what we are doing FMT for. Too many recent musical works just reproduce past works and bore me musically. Recent musical works so rarely stagger me. I lament that so strongly.

But if you make music that staggers ourselves, I know it would never hit. I don't suppose many people would understand and like it. We don't really care.

Some listener reputed FMT as "post-internet music." That's super. In the sense like above, I agree with that because music of limited popularity but distinction could survive only in the post-internet era. There are neither dilemmas nor trade-offs between quality music and sales here. There are only a few people around who comprehend music, while there are surprisingly many from all over the world.
