While I listened to many songs from artistic to popular, I came to believe "oh, every musical art is to create what you love to listen to but can't find anywhere else. And you will be happy if many people love to as well."
If that is the nature of musical arts, musical artists seem to me to be decreasing in today's world. Steep decline. Well, it could be that I just don't know, though...
Those who have increased are musical business people. The basic notion of business is to meet customer's needs. So, musical business is to reproduce what customers (rather than "you") are likely to listen to, or, to be modest, what customers do not feel annoyed when listening to the lyrics. In that world "to create what 'you' want to play or listen to is WRONG." (I have heard one hit-making producer actually said that before.)
That makes sence. But such a world is boring. Musical business does not generate something new. It DID but it's not the case any more. Musical business people are diligently making what customers are as highly likely to like as possible, which is, replicating the patterns of the past hits.
They love to put the main motif at the beginning of the track in order for the customers to say "I love it!" Eventually I would say "okay, this is it."
But musical artists sometimes let me (or probably us) say "what is this!?" and confused.
Now there are few chances like that. "Fine, we want to surprise and confuse ourselves." That's the heart I hope FURICO to have. The meaning of "to create what we love to listen to but can't find anywhere."
